To live fabulously, share a bottle of great wine during dinner every so often...maybe even during the week! Every so often, one stumbles upon a new wine -at a great price- that is pretty fabulous, and here is one fabulously average persons recommendation...assuming you are of legal drinking age and are able to indulge responsibly when you are reading this, of course!
Fabulous Wine Find: Fat Bastard, Shiraz
The people at Fat Bastard state that "to make the Fat bastard Shiraz we source wines in the Minervois area near Carcassonne, in the Pezenas sector, and in the north of Nimes. These vineyards present excellent conditions for the Shiraz vines. The stony soil and a perfect microclimate yields mature grapes with a high concentration of color and aromas.
Tasting notes: Rich and dense with complex aromas of blackberries, licorice and vanilla. Tannins are ripe and delicate.Food Pairings: A perfect match with red meat, lamb, spicy foods and full-bodied cheeses."
Fabulously Average says: Now, if you are yet unfamiliar with the Fat Bastard wine label, I highly recommend that you give it a whirl-assuming you are of legal drinking age wherever you are reading this! Fat Bastard offers a crisp Chardonney and a luscious Merlot in addition to this tasty Shiraz...get all three for a party and you are bound to please everyone! With a bottle priced between $7-$12, look beyond the label name and pick up a bottle for your next dinner (candlelight optional.)
